Blog♡Post - Number Twenty Eight
-Today in class we took a quiz. The quiz was on the four guidelines we can follow to create a list of key words. I did great on the quiz! The four answers had been, study the research topic and write down any keywords that can help, write down a sentence pertaining to two topics having to do with your research topic, identify synonyms and some of the related terms of your keywords and lastly, look up back round information and define some of your keywords.

-Today in class we performed a basic research 2. When preforming a search on one search query. It only gives a limited amount of results. In class today we wrote out a sentence or two on our topics so that we could broaden our search and have better results in our searches. By writing out information on the topic and looking it up in all different types of search queries we learned that we will get a numerous amount of results. This new strategy helps a lot.

-Today in class we learned about wordle. It is very cool to know that we can make cool pictures and designs out of our words. It is also cool that we can now do all different sorts of blog enteries so we do not have to do the same old thing!

8. If there was a reading assignment, what did you learn from the reading assignment? What did you not understand? What prior knowledge did you bring to the reading material?
-In todays reading assignment we learned how to find the keywords in our searches. We wrote out sentences on our topics and found search queries from our key words. It helped expand our search a lot! I understood everything in class today and it also helped me learn how to find the results of my search better.

2. What did you learn? What material was new to you? What were the three most important things you learned in today's lesson/independent practice?
- Today I learned that I should study for my quizzes. The three most important things I had learned were, make time to study for your quizzes/tests, make flash cards if needed to remember material and ask for help if you need it. I did not learn these things in todays lesson or independent practice but this is a note to self. Today when taking the quiz I realized that I should never take another quiz/test unprepared again and that I should always study. This is a very big lesson to me.

- In todays class we looked up articles on cyber bullying. This class assignment definitely stuck out to me more then the others did. My article had been about a boy who had committed suicide due to cyber bullying. I always knew that cyber bullying had excised but I did not know that so many children and teens are so sensitive that they are willing to take their own lives because of it. It is so sad to me. I feel so bad that this is happening to children and teens all over the world. It needs to be stopped as soon as possible.

- In todays reading assignment I looked up one of my favorite designers Juicy Couture. I know a lot about Juicy Couture so I figured if I look up an article on it I will broaden my knowledge on the designer. The article I read spoke about Juicy Couture's shoe collection. When they had added the shoe collection, they felt the collection had then been complete. Although this article didn't carry too much information, it was interesting to read. I like that in class we get to read about things that interest us individually.

- In todays reading assignment I read about Kim Kardashian. After we learned how to show the images, all the articles I looked up had images! it was really cool. The images definitely made this article more interesting. I learned more about Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush's relationship then I had already known. Not only did I learn about Kim and Reggie but I also learned that too much time spent away from a loved one will split you up.

8. If there was a reading assignment, what did you learn from the reading assignment? What did you not understand? What prior knowledge did you bring to the reading material?
-Today, we looked up articles having to do with different type of websites. The article told me a little about all of the different websites and I learned about twitter, imeem etc. I learned more about twitter than I had already known! I knew that twitter had been a social network where people can follow celebrities and other people but I did not know the full extent. I never heard about imeem before though. This article helped me learn about cool new sites that I have never heard of.

Blog♡Post - Number Fifteen
2. What did you learn? What material was new to you? What were the three most important things you learned in today's lesson/independent practice?
-Today I learned more about the search engines. Re-taking the quiz helped me a lot about remembering the search engines. When I first took the quiz I had been a little shaky and did not remember a lot of material. I did not do so well. The next day Ms. Sarles went over all the topics covered on the quiz. (Mostly the search engines). Paying attention to what she was saying helped a lot because a few moments later we retook almost the same quiz. Two of the search engines had been new to me because I did not remember learning about them the first time. Today in class I learned about the search engines, that I should always pay attention to the board because I never know when we may have a pop quiz and that search engines information may consist of images, web pages, information and other types of files.

7. What did you learn from reading someone else's blog? Did it help you write your own blog entry?
-Today I read Danielle's blog. Reading Danielle's blog made me think. In one of her blogs she let her curiosity run away with her when wondering about what IP addresses stood for. She had a valid point. Are the IP addresses chosen at random? Or do they actually mean something? This made me wonder a lot and I'm glad Danielle brought this to mind. I hope to find the answer soon.

4. What would you like to know more about the material?
-I do not understand the use in breadcrumbs. I understand that we are narrowing down our search but what is the point? I would much rather just search what I am looking for in one shot rather than breaking it down into the breadcrumbs. I think I would just rather prefer getting everything done quicker. Many people would probably enjoy breaking everything down and narrowing their searches but I personally do not. What I would like to know more about the material is who thought of the directory and breaking down the search?

4. What would you like to know more about the material?
-What I would like to know more about the material is, how to truncate a website. I was absent the day we learned how to do it and I still do not know how. It seems interesting to know how to do, so I would like to learn. I may look it up online myself or I might just ask one of my classmates to help me !

2. What did you learn? What material was new to you? What were the three most important things you learned in today's lesson/independent practice?
-What I learned in one of the lessons was that if you go the website MS. Sarles gave to us, and type in the name of the website, it converts it into the websites IP address for you. When I typed in rutgers.edu, I got the IP address. When I put the IP address into the address bar, it automatically brought me to rutgers page! I learned how to find out the IP address of websites and I also learned that by putting in the IP address it still takes me to the sight. Ms. Sarles also told us that the domain name is just an easier way to remember the site instead of remembering the IP address. That is why they create domain names! To make it easier on us to remember.

5. What questions do you still have?
-A question that still remains in my mind is, why do people bother making fake websites? Do they do this out of enjoyment or because they are truly bored? Do people make fake websites to trick other people or do they believe the information is real? I think that people do this to trick other people. They probably make fake websites so that people think they are real and will use it in their term papers and everyday studies. These people should stop because their websites are just ridiculous.

-Today I also read James Verdi's blog. I learned that James has a fascination with Willy Wonka. It made me laugh. James is really funny! As I read on I learned that James like the band cold play and John Mayer. I've been friends with James for about 4 years now and I never knew these facts about him. James' blog is very nice. It helped me realize that I should make my blog posts longer and more informational.

-Today, I read Kris Lopez's blog. I learned that Kris REALLY likes cars. Not just any car but he's pretty much amazed by Lamborghini's. The way he speaks about them, shows that Kris is really passionate about cars! It kind of helped me see that I should write about things that I am also really passionate about. It's nice to see how others can love something so much.

-In todays lesson, we learned if we type quotations around a word or phrase, the search engine automatically gives us a website having to do with the word or phrase we put in quotations. I had heard that somewhere before but I didn't have the in depth understanding of it until class. What I didn't know was that if you enter for example "UK" you will receive a website from that country. I did not know much about todays lesson but have heard it somewhere in the past.

4.What would you like to know more about the material?
-I would like to know why symbols are used for personal websites. Instead of using ~ or % for personal websites why isn't a code using letters or numbers used? I am not interested in learning more about the URLS but I am just curious as to why the symbols are used. I do not think symbols should be used for anything unless they are needed. I do not think they are needed for websites.

-What I had understood the most today was the backward link. Every site has a backward link. When looking for the backward link, it navigates you to the same site, when in reality you're looking for a different site. The site can either contain real information or it can be fake. It is very tricky.

3. What did you understand most/least about today's lesson and independent practice?
-I learned that not all the websites provided are real! We learned to use the term REAL to help us find out if the website is indeed "real". REAL stands for Read the URL, Examine the content, Ask about the author & Look at the links. When using REAL, we figure out if the website is indeed "real" or if it is a fake one. Many websites pay google to be at the top of the search, when it is not even a legitimate website. Using REAL helps us catch the fake ones and stop the use of them!

Blog♡Post - Number Two
3. What did you understand most/least about today's lesson and independent practice?
-In todays lesson, I understood all of the instructions given to us. For example some of the instructions had been, how to edit our profile, design our page, what links to add & etc. One thing I had a lot of trouble with was aligning my profile. I did not understand how to drag my news & advertising to the left side of my profile. Sure enough one of my classmates, Martin Sanchez, assisted me and the layout on my profile had then been complete. Todays lesson/independent lesson had not been a challenging one.

-In class I learned how to make an account on Blogger.com. All of the material and the instructions handed out in class were new to me & things I have never seen before. The three most important things I learned were, how to arrange my profile, how to add the links of my other classmates, & lastly but most importantly, how to add a blog post. Making the profile was a very enjoyable experience. Designing my blog excites me a lot!
